2009 AGE Melbourne Run

On Sunday June 28th, 10 keen and enthusiastic year 8 and 11 students began their school holidays by competing in the annual AGE Melbourne Run.

The Keilor Downs College Run Melbourne team met early on Sunday morning and ventured into the city. Thankfully the weather was nice and sunny and not too cold! Some of the students also dedicated their afternoons to training leading up to the run, which proved to be beneficial on the day.

The 5km run began on the Alexandra Bridge and journeyed on an atmospheric track around the city before finishing along Birrarung Mar. Sights included the Arts Centre, MCG, The Yarra River, Botanical Gardens and Federation Square.

The aim of the run was to get students active and involved whilst raising awareness into the benefits of physical activity and maintaining a balanced diet.

It was great to see students get involved and we hope the team increases in size next year. Well done to all participants and a big thanks to Ms Lamb and Mr Becher who attended and participated on the day.
