THE COLLEGE
Keilor Downs College is a large co-educational secondary school serving the north western suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. It was established in 1984 as one of the initial Post-primary schools in Victoria. The College is highly regarded in the community as providing a safe and caring learning environment and attracts a strongly multicultural student enrolment from a wide area.
Since 1996, the College has provided a comprehensive Overseas Student Program and has catered for students from Japan, Vietnam, Korea, Taiwan, Laos and China. Overseas students who have graduated from the College have successfully completed university courses in Melbourne and in Japan.

HOMESTAY and SUPPORT
Overseas students stay with local families who are carefully selected by the school to provide homestay. These families provide the opportunity for friendship, cultural exchange, support and communication.
The Overseas Students Program Co-ordinator takes responsibility for the successful orientation of students to the college and provides ongoing pastoral support. The College maintains regular contact with our overseas parents.
INTENSIVE ENGLISH
There is an ‘on site’ English language centre. ESL House is the centre at Keilor Downs College specifically for the intensive study of English taught by specialist teachers. Ongoing assistance is given with English and other subjects studied.
CURRICULUM
The College offers a wide choice of subjects including Humanities, Mathematics, Arts, Sciences, Computer Technology, Design Technologies and Foreign Languages including Japanese. We have a strong commitment to Mathematics and the Sciences. Overseas students are included in all mainstream curriculum and classes.
FACILITIES
The College consists of spacious, modern buildings in a safe, suburban setting. Impressive facilities include new science and music buildings, first class computer technology in all areas of study, a large multi-media library with study area, a gymnasium, weight training room and sports grounds.

The College is a reflection of the multicultural nature of Melbourne. Students are from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and overseas students are readily welcomed and accepted.
EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
The College has a wide variety of sporting programs and facilities. Keilor Downs College is a high achieving school in the sports of soccer, volleyball and athletics. Additional curriculum activities include music, theatre productions, debating, study camps, exchange programs, work experience and excursions. The College has annual exchange programs and sister school relationships with schools in Japan and China.
