CANTEEN POLICY
Aims
College Council determined, in 1995, to take over the operation of the canteen as a profit-making activity. Profits were to be used to support college programs.
Canteen staff are School Council employees. A Canteen Manager is employed full time (SSO 3 – 52/52) and 6 part time assistants. Salary and conditions for all staff come under the School Service Officers Award (2001).
Guiding Principles
The College believes students should be provided with a wide variety of foods and a menu through which parents can be assured that their children’s dietary needs will be considered.
The college policies prevent students from leaving the college grounds during lunch and recess times and the college believes the canteen products should be offered at prices lower than those of surrounding outlets.
